Urban wastes have been serious problem in most cities in Tanzania causing undesirable burdens to urban community, various initiatives have been made to remove wastes but have not been efficient in solving wastes problem. Research come up with idea of value addition on wastes by utilizing them as source organic fertilizer.
Hakika is organic fertilizer made from urban wastes particularly vegetable scarps, wood chips, saw dust and food wastes from restaurant and residential areas. Organic farming has been environmentally friendly and it improves soil thereby increasing the crop yield.
